The administration of the district administration office is divided into four devisions, to which various specialised departments are dedicated. The District Administrator heads the District Office. His deputy is the Full-time Alderman. The district administration also includes the Lindenau Museum, the adult education centre (Volkshochschule), the music school (Musikschule) and the waste management department and district road maintenance department.

The VHS - your municipal further education centre under the auspices of the Altenburger Land district. We are an adult education institution recognised under the Thuringian Adult Education Act. We work according to the standards of the IWIS quality model. Voluntary learning with joy and satisfaction is our concern. Twice a year, a new programme is created, which is divided into six areas.

For better orientation of the participants, there is always the possibility of educational counselling. As an accredited counselling centre for the funding programme "Bildungsprämie", we are available to answer questions about individual continuing vocational education and training. The Adult Education Centre is a recognised provider of integration courses for immigrants, a certified testing centre and regularly offers naturalisation tests. The Adult Education Centre is open to all citizens. Quality, seriousness, reliability and customer proximity are important to us.
